Welcome

My name is Adam, and this is my website. Here, you will find my texts, published books, articles, blog, and news about my work. I don’t have a meaningful presence in traditional social media, since I’m always busy writing new projects. As such, here you will find the most up-to-date information about my next publications.

This site is currently a work in progress. It will be updated weekly, so stay tuned and don’t miss anything!

About my work

I’m deeply passionate about fiction. My favorite genre of literature is late 19th Century adventure and horror. I love novels such as Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, Treasure Island, King Solomon’s Mines, Dracula, and Moby Dick.

I believe this genre still has a lot of place to shine. My work pays homage to the classics, but also brings the spirit of adventure, horror, and danger to a more modern audience, with updated tropes and revisioning of antiquate world views and outdated concepts common in period literature.

My stories are all set during the Victorian period (1850 to 1890), with occasional adventures set in the Cavalier Years (17th and 18th Centuries), or during the Roaring Twenties (1920s), the Genteel Interbellum (1930s), and Chandler American Time (early 1940s).

To me, literature is about having fun. My books are fast-paced, amusing, and somewhat brainless, but always overflowing with emotions. I believe the best books are the ones we read to forget about the fast-paced insanity of modern life.

About me

I was born in 1992 in Brazil. From an early age, I have been exposed to the English language, and have consumed a great deal of English literature. After years studying literary theory, as well as developing my own theories on storytelling, I decided to bring back to life my favorite genre, late 19th Century “classic” adventure.

Nowadays, I am a full time writer, publishing a new volume of classic adventure three to four times a year. Occasionally I also post new entries on my personal blog, new articles (usually about writing), and updates on my projects and other career news.

About this website

I like to focus on rapid writing and publishing of texts. To me, readability is more important than anything. As such, this entire website is built using Markdown and Pandoc, with the default styling generated by Pandoc’s “self-contained” HTML converter.

Occasionally I will post articles and blog entries about my writing process, if you’re into this kind of thing.
